Greg: Hello, Dr Pan. I am Greg. I came here to learn about TFT LCD Display Module. 

Dr Pan: Hello, Greg. TFT LCD module is one of the best LCD technology. We can simply consider it as TFT+LCD+LED backlight, and monochrome LCD module consists of LCD+LED backlight. An image on an LCD we can see is composed of pixels. TFT is the abbreviation for thin film transistor and it controls the R, G, B colors of each pixel respectively on the surface of LCD.

If we compare it with OLED, TFT LCD has several advantages below.

  1. It has a longer serving time: 50 thousand hours.
  2. Higher brightness, higher contrast rate, and more vivid color.
  3. The size is bigger and the price is much cheaper since it is a very mature technology.

Even though TFT LCD still dominates the markets now, the shortcomings are quite obvious: higher power consumption, thicker and narrow view angle.

OLED is not mature enough to replace TFT LCD, but it will be very likely in the future since it has many advantages.

TFT LCD is a high standard product and it is not well customized as monochrome LCD. But still,  it has a variety of options to meet the customers’ requirements.

  1. The sizes range from 1.44 inch to 130.0 inch;
  2. The various resolutions rage from 128*128 to 4k;
  3. Available interfaces include MCU, RGB, SPI and LVDS;
  4. Touch screen options. Touch screen options are available in resistive and capacitive technology.

It has been widely used in our everyday life. It includes industrial control, coffee machine, POS system, automation, GPS navigator, white goods, energy control, telecoms, medical equipment and etc.

Custom TFT LCD Display With Touch Panel Manufacturer

TFT Display modules with Capacitive Touch Screen are more user-friendly and have better performance compared with the ones with Resistive Touch Screen. There are many combinations of TFT display modules with projected capacitive touchscreen (PCAP) for you to choose from. The resistive structure is sensed by pressure so there is no limitation of contacting forms. 01 Communication

To start, you have to elaborate on your specific demands. It is best if you can offer your drawings. From our experience, many of our customers only have a concept in their mind and they ask for a quote or samples directly. This is not how it works. Sometimes a video conference or a face-face conference is necessary before we can fully understand your requirements. It usually involves a lot of questions, such as: 1. What is the application of the products ? 2. What is the timeline you’re working from? 3. What problem do we expect us to solve for you?

02 Design

After the first step, we both have some basic understandings . We pass some projects which are not suitable for us. And we can move on the next step: design. To better service our customers and save both of us some time, we will ask you to fill in some of our online forms. Online form custom LCD module. This is the basic information we have to acquire. If you are not certain about some parameters of custom LCD module, we will make the most reasonable design for you from engineering prospect.

03 Quote

Once the preliminary drawings are approved, we offer an official quotation which includes the unit prices, the tooling fees and the other details. Submit the payment if you are happy with the prices. If you can’t accept the prices, we can go back to step two. we can make it cheaper by simplifying the design. After we receive the payment, we will start to make the official drawings. It usually takes 1 to 3 days.

04 Prototypes

At this stage, we build samples based on tooling orders to justify proof of the concept. We can’t start the prototype process unless you sign on the official drawings. It usually takes 7 to 25 days to finish the samples base on the difficulties.

05 Validation

You as the customer validate the efficacy of the custom design before we agree to move into the larger production. It is normal to make several times of prototypes. One time tooling fee and no extra cost until you are satisfied.
