We are going to introduce our latest VA LCD module which is dedicatedly designed for the charging station of new energy cars. The most attractive feature is the vivid colors. There are 4 colors: red, yellow, green, and cyan. Let’s check the backlight, it is an edge LED backlight with white color. But how can we get the 4 colors on the screen by using just one color: white? It simply achieves the display effect by silk-printing 4 colors. Actually, there is the fifth color: black on the 4 edges of the screen to prevent the problem of light leaking. You may notice that the display contents form a circle. It tells us an important message that we don’t have to use a circular LCD to display the content of a circle. A rectangular LCD can achieve the same display effect and much cheaper. The view angle is 6 o’clock. It can be seen very clearly in 6 o’clock direction. The LCD screen is PIN connected to the PCB since it is easy and very stable.
How could the backlight be fixed and lit since we can’t see any connection between the backlight and PCB? It is an untraditional backlight. 4 LEDs are embed in the PCB by the machine. This is the light blocking area. Regarding the fixing problem, some double-sided tapes are applied between the backlight and the PCB. Besides, the backlight is sandwiched between the LCD screen and the PCB. It won’t be moved under normal conditions.
There are 6 mounting holes on the PCB, so the LCD module can be fixed on the control board. Let us check the back. It is a typical type of COB LCD module since the IC is on the PCB, covered, and protected by black glue. It is an eye-catching socket. It makes the connection between the LCD module and the control board more convenient.
